My name is Chelsea Velthuis and I am in Math 207 with MDY.

For the time I was given in this short, half-a-semester class, I decided to further explore what I could do with Tangrams by using Terrapin computer software (Logo). With Terrapin Logo you can create lists, mathematical functions. To put it simply, it is a "programming language." Thus, for my project I created a scene on a farm.
I also explored a new, to me, computer software called Google SketchUp. Google SketchUp is a 3D modeling program designed for architects and many other professions. I was introduced to it in such a way I could use it in my own classroom. To help me become better familiarized with the progrem I decided to build my house in Zeeland, Michigan.
Not only did I dive into these two programs and be introduced with many others, I also explored the World Wide Web for resources that I, or any Mathematics teacher, could use in the classroom. I found a lot of resources, but only some made the cut. Overall, I didn't spend too much time on any one project, but I satisfied with the overall conclusion and am glad that I was highly encouraged to explore these and various other programs.
